Since many of you asked about my work process, I can't tell you, but I can show you. Altrough this won't help the beginner, maybe give you some ideas. Please don't poke fun for my weak English, I'm aware that sounds lame XD

Time:
sketching - seriously I don't know, I sketch mainly during the lessons at school
lineart - 30 min - 1 hour
colouring - 4+ hours


Tools:
vector path tools
magic wand
pencil
paintbrush
smudge tool
dodge tool
+40 layers
+ gradients

Process:

[1] I draw on white paper, the best is from printer.

[2] I scann it in 300-400 dpi (if you have much RAM to spare, the higher is ok). Always change the opacity of the picture, and now it has very light colour (it's easier to do lineart).

[3] For lineart I use pen tool (damn paths) and pencil (size -1px). Why not paintbrush? Because lines are clean and it's easier to fill space with colour.

[4] Start colouring UNDER the lineart layer. Fill spaces with colors with all known you methods, each colour on diffrent layer.

[5] Start adding shadows. It's the most difficult step for me, because picture looks like crap and it's still much work to do, I don't see the end and want to jump from the window XD Trust me, in zoom it looks even worse.

[6] Then eyes -I like - it's only 5 minutes of work. How to do them => tutorial is here

[7] Add shiny @w@ by dodge tool @w@ but be careful! Use smudge toll for effects.

[8] Add background, using gradients and airbrus. FIN!
